Spy thriller sees Sarah (Brit Marling), an elite private intelligence operative, juggling shifting priorities when she infiltrates an eco-terrorist group who are targeting major corporations. Co-stars Alexander Skarsgård, Elliot Page and Patricia Clarkson. The East is the second flirtation between Marling (also co-writer) and director Zal Batmanglij, following 2012’s similarly infiltration-themed Sound of My Voice.
