Inquisitive journalist Grace Collier is horrified when she witnesses her neighbour, fashion model Danielle Breton, violently murder a man. Panicking, she calls the police. But when the detective arrives at the scene and finds nothing amiss, Grace is forced to take matters into her own hands.

As Kevin Flynn (played by the great Jeff Bridges) searches for proof that he invented a hit video game, he is digitalised by a laser and finds himself inside 'The Grid', where programs suffer under the tyrannical rule of the Master Control Program (MCP).
