Where to watch the Rocky movies in the UK
Sylvester Stallone had to fight, onscreen and off, to make the Rocky series the beloved classics they are today. As we found out from a recent Flicks experiment, chugging eggs and running a bunch hurts, even without having to pawn your beloved pet dog for cash and battle Hollywood execs in order to star in the greatest underdog Oscar Best Picture win of all time.
UK viewers with fond memories of each of Rocky Balboa’s stirring matches can cheer him on in one streaming location, except for the very latest movie in the franchise. Every film in the Rocky franchise can be streamed on Prime Video within the UK, save for Creed II which streams on Netflix. Every title in the series can also be rented or bought on demand via YouTube, Prime Video’s store, Google Play, Apple TV, and Chili.
If you’re keen to throw on a robe and binge the original Rocky, and the increasingly outlandish sequels Rocky II (the one where Rocky blows all his dosh and wins), III (the one with Mr T), IV (the one where Rocky tears down the Iron Curtain) and V (the one where he first takes to training), you’ll need a Prime Video subscription. And whoever in your life most resembles Adrian and Pauly to watch along, of course.
2006’s bitter comeback Rocky Balboa, in which Stallone creakingly gets back into his routine to fight the current champ, makes an over-the-hill addition to the original string of hits. Prime Video also has Ryan Coogler’s celebrated modern sequel Creed, in which the son of Apollo Creed (Michael B. Jordan) comes to Rocky for guidance.
The very latest film in the all-time great sports franchise, however, is available only on Netflix. So if you’ve got subscriptions to both services and Creed II looks fighting fit to you, lace up your gloves and get into it.
