Lady Whistledown promises to spill the tea in Bridgerton season 2 teaser
It’s a thrill to hear Julie Andrews’ iconically sweet voice once more in the teaser for Bridgerton‘s second season. In the final moments of season one, it was revealed that Lady Whistledown is actually (gasp!) Penelope Featherington, played by the adorable Nicola Coughlan.
Our official teaser from Netflix below melds together Couglan and Andrews’ voices to narrate Lady Whistledown’s latest tea, as the high-society gossip promises that she’s only been “honing [her] skills and sharpening [her] knives” since we last met.
The Bridgerton family better be on high alert for any sensational rumours starting March 25, when season two drops on Netflix internationally.
As readers of the original Julia Quinn novels will be aware, each season of Bridgerton focuses on the romantic trials and tribulations of a new member of the titular family: season one introduced us to Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and her dashing Duke Simon (Regé-Jean Page, sadly absent for season two).
This time, older bro Anthony (Jonathon Bailey) is having a hard time courting fiery newcomer Kate (Simone Ashley)—and you know how we love an enemies-to-lovers storyline.
All the societal pressures of Regency-era England don’t help things, with legions of snobby onlookers, royals, and wannabes just as fascinated by the Bridgerton siblings’ romantic fortunes as we are.
You’ve got some time to rewatch season one before another season of saucy costume drama arrives on our Netflix homepages. Or check out another Shondaland tale of ludicrous luxury and wealth: Inventing Anna is gossipy fun, too.
