How to watch this year’s Oscars ceremony in the UK
Find out how you can watch this year’s Oscars (after critiquing outfits you could never afford on the red carpet, of course).
Film fans will be able to watch the 95th Academy Awards live and for free on Monday 13 March (UK time). Sky Showcase and streaming platform NOW are screening the Oscars this year, with the ceremony also playing on Sky’s dedicated Oscars channel Sky Cinema Oscars.
The full Academy Awards ceremony gets underway at midnight in the UK, running until around 3am. You can get warmed up beforehand with E! red carpet footage on Sky Showcase from 11pm-midnight on Sunday 12 March.
Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year after Chris Rock… well, you know. Can’t remember who got nominated for what? We’ve got the full list of nominees right here.
Everything Everywhere All at Once, the trans-dimensional arthouse martial arts movie by filmmaking duo The Daniels (aka Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), leads the pack this year. That’s partly numerical—having picked up a staggering 11 nominations—but also in form going into the Oscars, after cleaning up left right and centre at preceding awards.
We’re also running a competition to find the world’s #1 Oscar expert (aka whoever can predict the most winners).
If you’d like some help in making your picks, we have some hopefully helpful predictions. On the one hand, we have analysis (educated guesses) by Steve Newall, Eliza Janssen and Liam Maguren. On the other, the latest in Flicks computer technology (AKA a random number generator).
Once you’re ready to make your picks, you can do so here.
Whether or not you are victorious, hopefully there’s plenty to keep you entertained on Monday March 13.
