How to watch The Crown season 6 in the UK
With Succession wrapped and The Fall of the House of Usher already in our rear view mirror, we’ve got a sudden void in the popular “sprawling clans of hyper-wealthy sociopaths being horrible to each other” subgenre. Luckily, help is at hand with the return of The Crown.
How to watch The Crown season 6 in the UK
The Crown season 6 is streaming in the UK exclusively on Netflix.
What is The Crown season 6 about?
Technically this is season 6 part 1, as this final offering has been split into two parts and anyway, the “season” structure is a legacy of broadcast television and makes increasingly little sense in the streaming world. But it’s about the Windsor family, of course, with this final season covering the deaths of Princess Diana, Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother (not all at once, you understand), the early romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton, the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, and possibly even the death of the Queen, because if ever there was a perfect season finale for this thing, it’s that. Which sounds ghoulish to us, but we didn’t write the thing—Peter Morgan did.
The cast of The Crown season 6
Elizabeth Debicki and Khalid Abdalla are Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed (part one only), Imelda Staunton is Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce is Prince Philip, Lesley Manville is Princess Margaret, Jonny Lee Miller is John Major, Dominic West is Charles, Prince of Wales, Olivia Williams is Camilla Parker Bowles, Claudia Harrison is Princess Anne, James Murray is Prince Andrew, and Bertie Carvel is Tony Blair. And the whole thing takes place in a parallel universe where everyone is about 30% more attractive than their counterparts here.

Critics are saying the series has finally descended into melodrama, but perhaps the final six eps, which drop on December 14, will stick the landing? We shall see…
