What is Secret Level season one about?

Following in the footsteps of Miller’s other genre anthology series, Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots, Secret Level is compromised of 15 short animated films, all of ’em based on various video games (well, except for one—you’ll spot it.

So, look forward to stories based on or set in the worlds of (deep breath) Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons (technically not a video game, but not the one we’re talking about), Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, Pac-Man, PlayStation (there it is…), Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (and you might ping this for the same charge we slapped on D&D, but this is specifically based on the video game, not the whole franchise).

Why we’re excited about Secret Level season one

Well, if we’re being honest, video games and movies have always struggled when it comes to cross-polination. Still, the strength of an anthology series is that if one episode sucks, there’s another right around the corner. There’s a lot of talent involved to counterbalance the form’s dim history, too. Look, if it manages a 60% hit rate, we”ll call it a win.
