How to watch Cross season 1 in the UK
Aldis Hodge is the new face of James Patterson’s literary crime fighter.

Having already been played by Morgan Freeman and later Tyler Perry in three big screen adaptations, best-selling author James Patterson’s whip-smart detective, Alex Cross, now comes to TV in this new crime series.
How to watch Cross season 1 in the UK
Cross is streaming in the UK exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from November 14.
What is Cross season 1 about?
As we noted, our hero is detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, who balances hunting down twisted killers with being a good single dad to his kids following the murder of his wife, Maria, by persons unknown.
This time the decision has been made not to adapt one of the 30+ books featuring the character, but to tell a new tale centering on the mysterious overdose death of a noted Black Lives Matter activist, Emir Goodspeed. Obviously it’s not a simple OD, and across the season’s eight episodes our dogged detective unravels what’s really going down. Well, we assume he does…it’d be a bit weird if he didn’t.
The cast of Cross season 1
Aldis Hodge, familiar from Black Adam and The Invisible Man, is Alex Cross; Isaiah Mustafa is his best mate and fellow cop, John Sampson; Chaunteé Schuler is the late Maria; Caleb Elijah and Melody Hurd are Damon and Janelle, Cross’ kids; Juanita Jennings is Nana Mama, his grandmother, who is helping him raise the children; Sharon Taylor is Lieutenant Oracene Massey; and Jennifer Wigmore is Chief Anderson.

Why we’re excited about Cross season 1
The Alex Cross mysteries are always reliably entertaining, and Hodge is well overdue for his own starring vehicle. The presence of Isaiah Mustapha as Sampson doesn’t hurt, either. Amazon’s on a bit of a roll with crime-lit adaptations that your dad probably likes, such as Reacher and Bosch. So it’s a safe bet this will be the kind of reliable procedural thriller that pulls in a broad audience.
