Academy Awards 2024 winners and where to watch them
The Academy Awards has left the podium for another year. Check out what films took home the glory and how you can watch them.
As expected, Oppenheimer triumphed at the 96th Academy Awards with six wins, taking home Best Picture and Director for Christopher Nolan as well as Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.
Poor Things scooped up the second-most Oscars with four wins, including Best Actress for Emma Stone, and The Zone of Interest scored the bronze with two wins for Best International Film and Best Sound. The rest of the categories were evenly spread out among the nominees.
While we’d like to report on a major upset, or a huge scandal, that simply wasn’t the case. And that’s perfectly fine. This isn’t the Super Bowl or Married at First Sight. This is an awards show.
As such, it came with its share of awards highlights like: Da’Vine Joy Randolph thanking her publicist but forgetting to say her name, a naked John Cena presenting the Best Costume award, the Godzilla Minus Zero team bringing a golden mini-Godzilla up with them for their VFX win, Arnold Schwarzenegger saying the word “Oppenheimer,” a casual cut to the dog from Anatomy of a Fall clapping its paws, and Ryan Gosling giving maximum Kenergy to his performance of Barbie hit “I’m Just Ken” (before losing the Best Song Oscar to Billie Eilish and FINNEAS for fellow Barbie hit “What Was I Made For?”).
