Tortoise in Love

Independent UK rom-com about Tom, a local gardener who moves at a lethargic pace when it comes to matters of the heart. But when he falls insatiably for gorgeous Polish au pair Anya, the entire village gives him the push he needs to win her heart. 

A truly homegrown effort, almost the entire village of Kingston Bagpuize in Oxfordshire was involved in the making of the film. Young mums helped with the sales and publicity. Retired folk provided the drivers and props. The local Women's Institute organised a catering effort, and all the cast and crew were lodged in village homes for the duration of the shoot. In return for its spectacular voluntary effort, the village owns a 'Golden Share' of the film meaning that clubs, schools and societies will benefit from any future profits.
