The Taverna

Independent Australian comedy covering an utterly chaotic evening in a family run Greek restaurant in Melbourne, from award-winning filmmaker Alkinos Tsilimidos.

Taverna owner Kostas (Vangelis Mourikis) gets more than he bargained for when his popular belly dancer refuses to work to avoid an awkward encounter with her ex-husband and his new girlfriend. She is replaced at the last minute by one of his eager waitresses.  Then there's the kidnapping, the scooter incident, the well-meaning chef who cooks up rare treat, and the sleazy customer who doesn't know his limits.
