The Overnighters

The fracking boom that hit North Dakota brought a flood of unemployed in search of work. This documenary follows a local pastor who offers help, letting the itinerant workers sleep in his church – giving them a roof over their heads and, more importantly, a residential address so they’re employable by oil companies. When the local community rebels, pastor Reinke finds himself on a multi-year crusade against his townsfolk, and even his own parishioners.
