The Lawnmower Man

A scientist (Pierce Brosnan) experiments on an intellectually disabled man (Jeff Fahey) using drugs and virtual reality, which leads to him gaining psychokinetic abilities, increased intelligence -- and an obsession with becoming a supreme digital being.

Originally marketed as being based on a Stephen King short story, the film's connection turned out to be in name only, and King later successfully sued to have his name removed from the project.
