Prehistoric family adventure from Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, makes of An American Tale. Littlefoot, an orphaned Brontosaurus, flees famine and sets off in search of the legendary Great Valley - a land said to be lush with vegetation. Along the way he is joined by four other little dinosaurs - a Triceratops, a Saurolophus, a Pteranodon and a Stegogsaurus.
Interestingly, executive producers Spielberg and Goerge Lucas weilded a heavy pair of scissors in the editing room - making director Don Bluth remove the film's scarier scenes and change the ending. Eleven minutes was removed in total. Nonetheless, the film was a massive hit in 1998 and has led to 13 direct-to-video sequels.
