An epic action/melodrama in the grand tradition of Chinese/Hong Kong big budget films, from the heralded director Yimou Zhang (House Of The Flying Daggers).
Centres on the ruling, feuding family of 928 AD China. The family is losing internal strength due to a power struggle between the emperor (Yun-Fat), the empress (Li), and the couple's three sons. During Chong Yang Festival, while the family is keeping up a charade, thousands of golden armed warriors charge the Imperial Palace in a surprise rebellion.
