Struggle No More

Elliott Murphy describes Wellington band The Windy City Strugglers: "For me its deep blues from way down under, as if the Mississippi River had uged its way through the center of the earth and come home in New Zealand of all places. It evokes a land and a time that can leave you lost between centuries."

Costa Botes' video documentary traces the band's 4 decade career, their transformation from a blues cover band to NZ originals, and asks "Why is it SO hard to make a living as a creative person in NZ?" At one point, band member Rick sighs, 'sometimes I think I've made an enormous of and wasted my life playing minority appeal music.'
