Outrage Beyond

In this stand-alone sequel to 2010's crime actioner Outrage, police pressure on organised crime sparks a national yakuza power-struggle between two crime syndicates: the Sanno of the East and Hanabishi of the West. Nominated for the Golden Lion at Venice 2012.

Corrupt anti-yakuza cop Kataoka (Fumiyo Kohinata) seeks to reign in the Sanno clan when their young and brash leader Kato (Tomokazu Miura) begins ignoring long-established criminal structures and traditions. Kataoka enlists the help of imprisoned yakuza renegade Otomo (Kitano Takeshi), whose involvement quickly initiates a violent, inter-clan struggle.
