Globe-spanning documentary exploring what can happen on planet Earth within a single day. With all footage captured on October 10th 2010, the film showcases moments and stories from every country in the world.
A "grassroots film project", One Day on Earth is created by over 19,000 volunteer filmmakers - novice and professional - who responded to an open call. The producers also donated over 1,000 cameras to more than 95 UN country offices, allowing some of the world's most remote cultures to be included. The result was over 3,000 hours worth of footage in 70 languages which has been edited down to create the film.
Over 60 international non-profit partners collaborated to create this online movement, including the United Nations, Ford Foundation and World Wildlife Fund. The on-going "global mosiac" is chronicled at www.onedayonearth.org.
