Frank Capra's 1934 screwball comedy, winner of four Oscars including Best Film, about a spoilt heiress (Claudette Colbert) on the run from her controlling family, aided by a story-hungry reporter (Clark Gable).
Having just been been hitched to aviator King Westley, Ellie (Colbert) is whisked away on her furious father’s yacht. Impulsively, she jumps ship, starting her journey back to her new husband. On a chance encounter, she runs into Peter (Gable), a newspaper journalist looking for a scoop.
