Intimate, first-hand documentary chronicle on the making of Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now (1979), a production plagued by an ambitious script, foreign shooting conditions, budget constraints and casting problems. The feat took its toll on the director's mental health, and nearly destroyed his career. Narrated by his wife, Eleanor Coppola and based on her excellent book of the same name.
Eleanor shot behind-the-scenes footage at the time and in 1990 compiled that footage - along with new interviews with the cast and crew - with her co-directors Fax Bahr and George Hickenlooper.
