Boomerang (2015)

Adapted from Tatiana de Rosnay's best-selling novel A Secret Kept, French director François Favrat's third film is a dramatic whodunit featuring Mélanie Laurent, Laurent Lafitte and Audrey Dana.

Antoine's (Lafitte) obsession with the unexplained death of his mother thirty years earlier is a heavy burden on his life. Adding to this, his wife has left him, his children are upset with him and he is in the process of wrecking his relationship with his sister Agathe (Laurent), now his closest family member. Having now reached the point of no return in his search for the truth, Antoine decides that he has to face up to the past and confront his father, an overbearing man who forbids anyone from bringing up the story of his wife’s death... and who is obviously hiding something. He decides to return to the place of her death, and with the help of Angèle (Dana), a forensic pathologist, he tries to shed light on the mystery that broke his heart as a ten-year-old boy.
