Finding Michael (March 3)
I have mixed feelings about Everest: it’s already been summited, about 70 years ago in fact, so why would any new risk-takers feel the need to endanger themselves, overworked local Sherpas, and the mountain ecosystem itself for their grab at glory? This emotional doco follows the fallout of one such exploration, with Spencer Matthews documenting his tireless search for his brother’s body on the mountain.

In 1999, 22-year-old Michael Matthews was the youngest Brit to ever reach Everest’s peak, only to disappear into its blinding snow hours later. It’ll be a sobering and perhaps inconclusive journey for Spencer, who’s seeking closure rather than greatness.
UnPrisoned: Season 1 (March 10)
Try out this heartfelt new sitcom to see a strange, sweet situation from three different generational perspectives. Perfectionist therapist mum (Kerry Washington) is trying to keep her household together, when her long-incarcerated dad (the terrific Delroy Lindo) is let out and moves in with her and her teen son (Faly Rakotohavana). He turns out to be a (mostly) great influence on the family he’s missed out on, teaching the youngster how to drive and doling out (unsolicited) relationship advice to his daughter. The chemistry between the leads looks strikingly believable in this lighthearted family series.
Boston Strangler (March 17)
It’s been said that Keira Knightley only really looks right in period costume: she definitely has an ‘of-another-time’ quality that won’t be too tested in this 1960s true crime series. She and Carrie Coon play the first reporters who connected a string of grisly murders together to characterise a serial killer, despite their humble efforts being played down and patronised by male-dominated authorities. This film comes from producer Ridley Scott, and was shot last year all around Massachusetts, perhaps capturing some of the unsettled ghosts forever tied to the Strangler case.
