About Royal Cinemas Sutton Coldfield
Contact & About
This cinema opened in 1936 on a main road just outside the town centre, and is said to be one of the finest Odeon theatres still in use. It boasts elements of the original art deco design, including a ‘fin’ tower by the lower corner entrance. In 1998 it was designated a Grade II listed building, joining the Empire Cinemas chain in 2006. Staff are knowledgeable and locals praise it as a ‘little gem’ in the community. However, it could do with a little spruce-up, and while there’s no wheelchair access to screen one, films do rotate out to the other three accessible screens. An induction loop facility is available in all screens, and at the box office and till areas.
