About Oban Phoenix
Contact & About
Oban has always had a love of cinema. At the turn of the 21st century, 'The Highland Theatre' was situated at the top of George Street and had served the town well for many decades. However, in 2010 it sadly closed its doors for the last time.
In August 2012, the Oban Phoenix Cinema re-opened those doors as a fully independent community-owned cinema and a registered charity. Since then, it has thrived and offers an eclectic mix of film including but not limited to arthouse, big blockbusters, and live streamed theatre across two screens – a 148-seater and an intimate 22-seater.
