About Lynton Cinema
Contact & About
The best movies can transport you to another world. In the case of the Lynton Cinema, it will take you to another time. This quirky 68-seat cinema is housed in a Grade II-listed former Methodist chapel that was built in 1910. It’s been a full-time cinema since 2001 and in 2021 was named one of the 50 best cinemas in the UK and Ireland by Time Out. The website even boasts that this may well be the smallest town in the country to have a full-time cinema. This doesn’t mean that it stints on quality, though: the programme is up to date, prices are reasonable, there’s Dolby SR sound, and air-conditioning/central heating. Summer means two screenings daily – the afternoon performance is generally aimed at families – with one nightly showing in winter and a Monday afternoon matinee. Drop in to experience a truly unique cinema experience.
