About JW3 Hampstead
Contact & About
Finchley Road’s Jewish Community Centre was developed in 2013. Set back from the noisy six-lane thoroughfare by a tiered piazza, it offers a sense of space and calm, with brass, glass and stone throughout. Its fully soundproofed cinema is minimalist but cosy, in nicer-than-it-sounds pink and cream. It’s also wheelchair- and hearing-accessible, and technically solid with 4K Sony Digital projection and Dolby Digital. A programme of 18 shows a week blends new release titles – mostly indie, world cinema and midbrow arthouse – with Jewish-interest repertory titles curated by the UK Jewish Film Festival. JW3 is big on families – it has an open nursery and big play areas – and this extends to offering carers with infants Monday morning Babykino screenings of non-terrifying dramas and romances.
