About Everyman Screen on the Green Islington
Contact & About
Custom-built in 1913 to the new Cinematograph Act regulations of the time, The Screen on the Green’s 125-seater is a cinema with a capital ‘C’, featuring an arched façade with red-neon outline, original barrel vault ceiling and iconic red curtain. Its programme is mostly high-end commercial, with a food menu of suitably bad for you Americana such as pizzas, dogs, sharing plates and sundaes. Famed for hosting Malcolm Maclaren’s Clash/Buzzcocks/Sex Pistols showcase in 1976, TSOTG was refurbished in 2009 to improve its suitability for live events. Premium double sofas make up a third of the 125-seater auditorium, projecting in Sony 4K DP with Dolby Digital, and 35mm for classic screenings. There’s additional standing room in the rear cocktail bar area.
