The Everyman Cinema Birmingham can be found in Mailbox Birmingham – a mixed-use development that opened in 2015 on the site of the old Royal Mail sorting office. The high-profile canalside address is also home to Harvey Nichols, a branch of the Malmaison hotel chain and BBC Birmingham. There are three screens here – ranging in size from 90 to 140 seats – showing largely mainstream releases alongside the odd arthouse hit. There’s also an extensive events programme, including National Theatre screenings and the Everyman Music Film Festival, a series of one-night events entering in its seventh year in 2021. Premier armchair seating is the norm, and you can pair your movie with a Spielburger meal and sundae in the foyer or even at your seat. The cocktails also come highly recommended.
