About Embassy Cinema Ilfracombe
Contact & About
A venue with a blessed existence, the Embassy started off as a church in the late 1930s before being converted into a cinema, opening in 1948 with Spring in Park Lane and The Three Stooges in Sing a Song of Sixpence. While tickets and snacks aren’t exactly a sixpence anymore, the Embassy, which is owned by Merlin, is known for its reasonable prices, offering affordable beer, reclining chairs and three screens. For a more substantial meal simply stroll down Fore Street to fine-dining eatery Thomas Carr 1873, which was awarded a Michelin Star in 2021, before taking in the largest harbour on the North Devon Coast.
