About Century Cinema Clacton
Contact & About
The Century has been a fixture in Clacton-on-Sea since it opened in 1936 with a screening of When Knights Were Bold. In its pomp the cinema had seating for 1,743 people. After changing hands (and names) a number of times, the Art Deco building was taken over by Picturedrome Cinemas in 2013. In addition to bringing back the Century name, a small fortune was spent on the two auditoriums with both screens now featuring Sony 4K digital projectors and Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound. Being able to prebook hotdogs with your tickets is a nice touch, while Century’s central location means Clacton Pier and amusement park Clacton Pavilion are just down the road.
