The Astoria is a member of the Reel Cinemas group, started in 2001 with its first cinema being a six-screen Art Deco theatre in Loughborough dating back to 1914. It became apparent that there was a need for a company that focused on designing and operating state-of-the art multiplex cinemas that did not require large footprints while still offering a wide choice of movies, excellent customer service, and good value for money. The aim is to provide tailored cinema experiences to specific market sectors within town centre environments.
